The Iranians licving in the small villages had a very different life style that clashed with the changing culture of Tehran. This film shows the life of a woman who is forced back to a small village after living int Tehran and how different her life becomes. Ferideh becomes married to man her parents picked out for her, and has children. Most the day she is locked inside the house like a prisoner without a telephone to use. Joya stays in Tehran and marries a man she loves and has her own career.
